Camo and Chrono: 7 Interesting Casio G-Shock Watches

Fans and collectors of Casio G-Shock watches have seven more reasons to make room on their shelves and wrists. This year, the brand launched three new styles of Casio G-Shock watches — an all-analog chronograph, an analog-digital chrono, and a military-style, camouflage-pattern all-digital model — available in a total of seven new color schemes.

The 3D Camo Print Camouflage series (Reference GDX6900CM) is the first G-Shock watch of its type released by Casio. It has a 3D camo pattern (available in tan or gray) printed on its case, strap, and plated dial. The watches are suitably huge (57 mm in diameter), but light (just 84 grams) and water-resistant to 200 meters. The watch includes an auto-LED “Super Illuminator” and a 10-year battery. Its array of useful functions includes a world timer, 1/100-second chronograph, countdown timer, and three multi-function alarms. The 3D Camo Series G-Shocks are priced at $150.

The new GA310 G-Shocks, equipped with chronographs as well as other standard G-Shock functions, feature Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions of their hybrid analog/digital-display dials. They are available in matte black with white accents (GA310-1A), blue with light blue accents (GA310-2A), and pink with yellow accents (GA310-4A).

Finally, the new GAC110 series of G-Shock watches has an all-analog display, with an Arabic numeral “12” and minute markers around the outer rim. This model is available in matte black with red accents (GAC110-1A) and in deep purple with contrasting neon green accents. Both the GA310 and GAC110 watch collections have large, 52.7-mm cases, dual-ladder straps, magnetic resistance and 200-meter water resistance, in addition to the well-known Casio shock-resistant technology that is typical of all Casio G-Shock watches.  The GAC110 models feature a screw-lock crown to adjust the time and date display and the GA310 watches have an auto-LED light for easy reading of the watch’s various functions, which include a countdown timer, five daily alarms, and the 1/100-second chronograph. The GA310 also boasts world times for 48 cities and the ability to display the time in 12- or 24-hour formats. All of these new Casio G-Shock chronograph watches retail for $150.

I absolutely love this watch. I am a huge Casio fan and have a few G-Shocks.

I do however feel that this watch is a bit short on features though. But as I dive and it’s 200m WR I love the fact that I can operate it at depth.

I recently reviewed the Casio AE-1200WH which I found to be amazing. It isn’t nearly as robust as the G-Shock but it is packed with features.

    Regards, David
