The detail work on these new editions are key. The stainless-steel version has silver-colored applied indexes and white-gold hands. The moon-phase shows the stars and moon as they move over a silver sky. On the rose-gold version, the hands and indexes are in gold, as is the moon. Seeing these elements over the dark color of the dials adds a sense of clarity and simplicity.
Inside the PanoMaticLunar is Glashütte Original’s Caliber 90-02. It is an automatic movement, beating at 28,800 vph. It runs in 47 jewels. Through the nonreflective sapphire caseback, you can see all its charms: polished and brushed steel parts, blued screws, a 3/4 plate in the Glashütte style and a hand-engraved balance bridge. The balance has a swan’s-neck fine adjustment and 18 weighted screws. The rotor is skeletonized with the G.O. logo and is made of 21-karat gold.
In its case, the PanoMaticLunar has a 40-mm diameter. It is 12.7 mm thick. The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters. In the stainless-steel/blue version, it can come on a blue alligator strap, a blue calfskin strap, or a steel bracelet. The rose-gold/black version is offered with two black alligator strap options.
See the next page for information on the new versions of the PanoReserve.
Like its cousin, the Glashütte Original PanoReserve has so far only been available with white and anthracite dials. The new matte black and dark blue versions emphasize the balance between different elements on the dial, especially the minimalist power-reserve indicator at 2 o’clock.
One side of the indicator runs tangent to the main time display. With its baton hand anchored at its highest point on the dial, it resembles a classic metronome. The PanoReserve also has a 42-hour power reserve.
Inside is Caliber 65-01, a manually wound 4-Hz movement with 48 jewels. It is decorated in similar fashion to the PanoMaticLunar.
The PanoReserve is 40 mm in diameter and 11.7 mm thick. It has sapphire crystals on both the front and back and is water resistant 50 meters. In the blue version it is offered with a steel bracelet, an alligator strap or a calfskin strap; in the gold-and-black edition it has two different alligator straps.
