Scenes from the Grand Finale: Inside Basel/Geneva 2010 Chicago

IBG 2010 Chicago

WatchTime’s 2010 Inside Basel/Geneva series finished up high above Chicago at the Mid-America Club on the 80th floor of the Aon Center. It was another night for records as more than 170 guests enjoyed timepieces from 19 participating brands – both all-time highs for Chicago.

Attendees met old friends and made new ones while chatting with brand executives over cocktails and test driving watches from A. Lange & Söhne, Armin Strom, Bulgari, Carl F. Bucherer, Cartier, Daniel Roth, De Bethune, Gerald Genta, Girard-Perregaux, IWC, Jean Dunand, Ladoire, Linde Werdelin, Maîtres du Temps, Montblanc, Parmigiani, Peter Speake-Marin, Piaget, and Vacheron Constantin.

Following the cocktail reception, guests enjoyed dinner while noted collector and writer Jeff Kingston presented highlights from more than 40 brands shown at Baselworld, the SIHH, and the Geneva Time Exhibition. Jeff’s HD videos took guests behind the scenes at the shows and into the workshops of some of the leading manufacturers.

Thanks to the participating brands and to all the guests who attended Inside Basel/Geneva 2010 – this year saw new highs in attendance, ambiance, and brand participation. Thanks to Jeff for putting together such engaging presentations, and to WatchTime’s publishing director Wolfgang Blum and Special Projects Editor Amy Bernstein who do yeoman work behind the scenes to make these events happen.

We look forward to seeing you next year!

    About Mike Disher

My name is Mike Disher and I am WatchTime's technical editor. My interest in watches dates to 1972 and I caught the internet bug in 1997. In 1999 I combined these interests by joining TimeZone.com as its first full-time employee, and later that year I attended my first Basel Fair. I managed TZ from 2000-2007, and in 2008 I joined WatchTime.
