Inside Basel/Geneva 2010: Next Stop, Miami

Inside Basel/Geneva 2010 is better than ever, with more exhibiting brands, luxurious venues, and Jeff Kingston’s new and improved HD video presentation. These shows are better than going to Baselworld and SIHH, because you can try on the watches. They’re better than going to see a retailer because the selection of pieces on display is amazing, and you can talk to knowledgeable brand executives and representatives (not to mention the great food and wine!)

Each show starts with a 90 minute cocktail reception with the watches on display. Meet fellow enthusiasts while seeing the newest watches from the Swiss shows. Then its off to a fantastic dinner during which Jeff transports you to Switzerland. This year Jeff covers 42 brands, and the video presentation shows some of the most complicated watches “doing their thing”. Jeff also takes you inside manufacturer ateliers so you can see watches being created first-hand. Jeff makes a special effort to include some of the wildest, most over-the-top pieces, some of which we guarantee you have not seen before.

The exhibiting brands for this show are: A. Lange & Söhne, Armin Strom, Bulgari, Carl F. Bucherer, Cartier, Daniel Roth, Gerald Genta, Girard-Perregaux , IWC, Jean Dunand, Ladoire, Linde Werdelin, Maîtres du Temps, Montblanc, Parmigiani, Piaget, and Vacheron Constantin.

To get a feel for the events, you can view a 3 minute video montage shot at the Los Angeles show by clicking here.

    About Mike Disher

My name is Mike Disher and I am WatchTime's technical editor. My interest in watches dates to 1972 and I caught the internet bug in 1997. In 1999 I combined these interests by joining TimeZone.com as its first full-time employee, and later that year I attended my first Basel Fair. I managed TZ from 2000-2007, and in 2008 I joined WatchTime. My other interests include cycling, cars, building custom turntables, painting, and inventing.
