After kicking off in Chicago on September 11, WatchTime’s “Inside Basel-Geneva” tour continued last week, as the popular watch-collector events, helmed by WatchTime and noted collector Jeff Kingston, touched down in Philadelphia, on September 18, and New York City, on September 20, the latter event drawing a record crowd of nearly 300 guests.
The Philadelphia IBG was held, for the second year in a row, at the prestigious Union League Club, and the New York City event was held for the first time in the elegant surroundings of the Plaza Hotel, near Central Park. As in Chicago, guests enjoyed mingling with fellow watch lovers and visiting an impressive lineup of luxury watch brands in the two-hour, pre-dinner cocktail, and then sitting down to a three-course gourmet dinner while viewing Kingston’s multimedia presentation on the highlights from this year’s Swiss watch fairs.
RGM’s Roland Murphy, the founder and chief watchmaker of the brand, made a personal appearance at both shows, and both Panerai and Vacheron Constantin had watchmaking demonstrations at their booths in New York. The 2012 “Inside Basel-Geneva” series makes its final stops next week on the West Coast, first in San Francisco on October 2, then in Los Angeles on October 4. The San Francisco event is sold out, but a few tickets remain for L.A. Click here to order tickets and for more details on the events.

Highly recommended. This event gets better every year. I plan to go to NYC\'s “Inside Basel-Geneva” again next year. I\'ve been twice so far, and it\'s definitely a great event. The food is great, and you can check out amazing very high-end watches you won\'t see anywhere else.
What a great event; I enjoyed it very much. To anyone who considered it, I highly recommend going. I\'ll almost definitely be attending again next year.
