Oris SA has established a new U.S. and Caribbean subsidiary, Oris Watches USA, and named V.J. Geronimo as the chief executive officer. Effective September 1, the new subsidiary will take over U.S. distribution from Hawthorne, N.Y.-based Oris USA, Inc., headed by Mark Wasserman. Oris officials said the move reflects a decision to exercise greater control over distribution in the U.S. market.
Geronimo is an 18-year industry veteran who previously served as a vice president at LGI Network, a market research company that provides sales data on luxury watches and jewelry. LGI was acquired by NPD Group in May. Prior to LGI, Geronimo directed the New England territory for Victorinox Swiss Army, and he held various positions at the Movado Group.
