Concord Launches C1 Seafarer and C1 Zest

Concord has announced two new versions of its C1 chronograph. The Seafarer features a “blue waters” rubber-coated alligator strap with contrasting white stitching complimenting white chronograph subdials. The dial finish is described as having a “structured fiberglass look.” The C1 Zest sports a white strap with orange stitching and an orange honeycomb dial with black subdials.
Concord C1 MecaTech Chronograph

The Concord C1 MecaTech chronograph presents a study in multi-level dial complexity. Every square millimeter offers a line, a texture, a non-traditional display, or a new elevation. The two-tone black PVD and rose gold case measuring 44mm x 16.7mm creates the impression of bank-vault security. A matte-black grid in the center of the dial provides the base for the arrow pointers that rest above the turning disks of the 30 minute and 12 hour counters.
Concord C1 Eternal Gravity

Concord might have dubbed this unique piece the Time Warp. Just looking at it transports me back a few years to those giddy days of carefree spending. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that the $1.2 million C1 Eternal Gravity was not created with the U.S. market in mind. As we all know, the watch words here (pun intended) are sensible, rational, and reasonably priced.
Concord C1 Biretrograde Limited Editions

Concord has released new limited edition models in the C1 line featuring retrograde day and date displays. The 44mm x 14.6mm case is available in 18K rose gold (150 pieces) and platinum (50 pieces). The day display is located at 7 o’clock, and the date at 4 o’clock. The automatic movement is a Concord C101 by La Joux-Perret offering a 42 hour power reserve. Below the 3.3mm thick anti-glare sapphire crystal lies a skeletonized and translucent multi-layer dial.
Vincent Perriard Steps Down as Concord Global President

Movado Group, Inc. (NYSE: MOV) announced today that Vincent Perriard, Global President of Concord, will leave the company. The Concord brand was re-launched with bold new designs in 2007 and their C1 Quantum Gravity Tourbillon won the design award at the 2008 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve. Concord will continue to develop the Quantum Gravity and the C1 collection.
Concord Adds New C1 Chronograph Models

Concord is adding 5 new models to its C1 Chronograph line: rose gold on a brown alligator strap, all black with a carbon fiber dial, the steel and white C1 Pure, anthracite gray, and orange highlights on an orange strap. C1 Chronographs measure 44mm in diameter and 16.7mm thick. Layered dials present time on a 3D palate. Each case has 53 components and is water-resistant to 20 atm. The 3.3mm thick sapphire crystals are anti-reflective coated on both sides.
Concord Announces C Lab Series
Concord announces the creation of C Lab Series, a special unit that will research and develop cutting-edge timepieces. Concord describes C Lab Series as a “hub of expression and design, whose mission is to transform watchmaking. In this testing ground of ideas, science and engineering become an art-form while research and development becomes a discipline in its own right.” The C Lab Series will test and employ “futuristic” materials, and Concord plans to offer grants to universities and engineering schools to pursue “extraordinary watchmaking partnerships.”
