Citizen Watch Company, which several years ago signed an endorsement deal with New York Giants QB Eli Manning, has now added tennis player Victoria Azarenka, the #1 player on the WTA Tour, as its newest international “brand ambassador.” After winning two medals for her native Belarus in the Olympics, Azarenka heads to the U.S. Open as the top seed. This year’s U.S. Open marks Citizen’s 20th anniversary as official timekeeper for the tournament.
Regarding her new position as brand ambassador, Azarenka says: “I am delighted to join the team of international Citizen Eco-Drive Brand Ambassadors. I admire Citizen’s commitment to the international sport of tennis as a sponsor of this hard-court Grand Slam event for two decades.” In 2010, Citizen extended its partnership with the USTA through 2015.
