Last week, American fashion icon Ralph Lauren, whose company develops Ralph Lauren timepieces in a partnership with Richemont, hosted a private Champagne reception to celebrate the U.S. debut of the watch brand’s RL67 Safari collection. New timepieces that watch press and retailers saw at the SIHH watch fair in January, including the Safari RL67 Tourbillon and the RL67 Chronometer, were on display for the public at the event, held at Ralph Lauren’s 888 Madison Avenue flagship boutique.
At the event, Lauren had his own vintage Series 1 Land Rover from 1950 parked outside the boutique ,along with a matte black Land Rover Defender owned by his brother, while models dressed in safari attire greeted guests.
The RL67 Tourbillon, as we reported at the time on our special SIHH blog, is equipped with the brand’s first tourbillon complication, while the RL67 Chronometer, which comes on Ralph Lauren’s signature faded olive canvas strap, is the brand’s first COSC-certified chronometer timepiece.
