Rafael Nadal Wears Richard Mille Tourbillon For Another Victory Written byWatchTimeMarch 6, 2013 Tennis champ Rafael Nadal was victorious yet again at the recent Abierto Mexicano Telcel tournament in Acapulco. Nadal, a Richard Mille brand partner since 2010, won the top prize while wearing the brand’s new RM 27-01 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal. After a seven-month hiatus due to an injury, this victory earned Nadal his 52nd title. The RM 27-01 was first unveiled in Geneva during SIHH as the “the world’s lightest tourbillon” (19 grams strap included). The RM 27-01 was created by Richard Mille in collaboration with Nadal, like the RM 027 Tourbillon and the RM 035 Chronofiable® certified before it. The movement is held in total suspension at its heart, with a baseplate attached to the case by four braided steel cables just 0.35 mm in diameter. The caliber can withstand accelerations of over 5,000 Gs. The RM 27-01, available in carbon nanotubes and supplied on a velcro strap, is available in a limited edition of 50 timepieces.
