Oris will be offering, for the second time, a limited-edition dive watch dedicated to the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest — and probably also its most famous — reef system. The 46-mm-diameter Oris Aquis “Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition II” (Ref. 01 735 7673 4185-Set RS) is limited to 2,000 pieces and introduces a deep blue dial with yellow accents as well as a new day-date display that pays tribute to the brand’s earlier pointer-date models.

The date is located on an inner chapter ring in the middle of the dial (please note: the real-life pictures here show an early prototype, without the yellow disk indicating the day and also using a white font, rather than a yellow one, for the date).

The Oris Aquis “Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition II” is powered by the Oris Caliber 735 (based on the SW 220-1 from Sellita), offers a water-resistance of 500 meters, and should be available in February 2016. It is available with both a rubber strap and a steel bracelet, and you should expect a retail price slightly above $2,000.

A portion of proceeds from sales of the watch will be donated to the Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS).
