Omega Adds PGA Champion Rory McIlroy


150Omega has announced its newest ambassador, pro golfer and PGA champion, Rory McIlroy. The two-time major champion from Northern Ireland joins Omega’s roster of ambassadors that features many current golf stars, including Davis Love III, as well as entertainers such as Nicole Kidman and Daniel “James Bond” Craig.

In 2012, McIlroy played a prominent role in the Ryder Cup in Medinah, where Omega served as Official Timekeeper. he has won numerous championships including the 2011 U.S Open, in which the young athlete set a record score of 16 under par on his way to an eight-stroke victory. The following year, McIlroy went on to win the PGA Championship.

McIlroy said of his new role: “Omega has a rich history in sport, both with the Olympics and in golf, and I have always had great experiences playing in its events. I have been a fan of the brand for a long time so to now be an OMEGA ambassador is special for me. I am truly excited about this new partnership and look forward to many great years together.”

Omega has had multi-year partnership with The PGA of America since 2011, and will serve as the official timekeeper of the Rio De Janeiro Olympics in 2016, when golf will make its return to The Games.
