Nomos Glashütte Wins iF Design Award

p150Nomos Glashütte’s minimalist designs, as seen in the German brand’s Tetra Collection, has earned it recognition at this year’s iF design awards, which are conferred annually by Hanover-based IF International Forum. The jury of 49 members picked Nomos Glashütte’s Tangomat GMT Plus as Wristwatch of the Year 2012, out of more than 3,000 products. The iF design awards honor “Symbols of the Modern Age.”

Nomos says that the design of the Tangomat GMT focuses on clarity and legibility. The watch is a redesign of its Tangente timepiece, now with a new dial and a second time zone, all powered by the automatic Nomos movement Xi. Nomos Glashütte was also honored at the iF awards in 2011 for its Zürich watch.
