F.P. Journe and HYT Win Awards


p150At the European Watch of the Year event, held at the London May Fair Hotel on October 2nd, 2012, F.P. Journe won the “Best Men’s Watch 2012” award for its Chronomètre Souverain.The Chronomètre Souverain is insipired by early 19th-century marine chronometry, including a twin-barrel movement for precision timekeeping. FP Journe retailer William Asprey accepted the award, saying: “We are proud to be once again awarded for the Chronomètre Souverain. Usually known for his innovative complications and numerous distinctions, F.P.Journe is happy that the Jury understood that to make a simple but perfect watch was not an easy task. He has succeeded an antithesis of complicated watch making with this precision chronometer. Thank you.”

In other award news, HYT’s unique H1, which uses liquid to display the time, won the Best Concept Watch Award 2012 at the “Salon International ALTA RELOJERIA” in Mexico City on October 4th.
