Close-Up: Casio Pro Trek PRW3000-1

PRW-3000-1A_JF_DF_CF_EF150Casio has expanded its Pro Trek collection, designed for outdoors enthusiasts, with the introduction of the PRW3000-1. The Pro-Trek PRW3000-1 utilizes Casio’s Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology, which features a downsized direction sensor and pressure sensor for altimeter/barometer readings and thermometer, resulting in improved altitude readings and compass measurements, as well as a smaller case size than previous Pro Trek watches.

A feature new to the Pro Trek line is the PRW-3000-1’s atmospheric pressure trend alarm, which gives a notification in response to sudden swings in atmospheric pressure.

The watch also features Casio’s Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology, which synchronizes the watch with atomic clocks in the U.S., Germany, the U.K., China, and two in Japan based on the user’s home city setting. Like other watches in the Pro Trek collection, the PRW3000-1 is powered by Casio’s Tough Solar Power, which can store up to six months’ worth of energy, and conserves power when not exposed to light for a certain period of time.

The PRW3000-1 has a retail price of $300.

It’s January 24th here in UK and I have not seen this model for sale yet – the Casio web site features older models. It looks to me as if we’re the poor neighbors again – and if it does appear this year – and that’s a maybe – goodness knows the cost!

  6. I recently discovered the new ProTrek PRW-3000 online. I’m glad to find your article stating the watch will be available in Sept. Do you have any idea what retailers will have the watch available? The only online retailers are international sellers direct from Japan.
