Ulysse Nardin re-introduced its GMT watch with a new manufacture movement this week at Baselworld. UN’s Dual Time watch has a simple, legible display and is designed for ease of use, particularly in setting the time. Now these characteristics have been incorporated into an in-house caliber. The Dual Time Manufacture doesn’t have the dial of a traditional GMT. Two center-mounted hands provide the local time, with an oversize small seconds display at 6 o’clock. A two-digit big date display is at 2 o’clock. The window at 9 o’clock permanently displays the home time-zone hour. Pushers on the left side of the case make for easy setting of the hands on the dial, forward or back. The date display can be set forward or back as well, via the crown. The new manufacture movement, UN Caliber 334, is an 11 3/4-ligne automatic that runs on 49 jewels. It has a 48-hour power reserve. In a nod to technology that Ulysse Nardin has developed for the last decade, it has a silicon escapement that resists wear and improves accuracy. The Dual Time Manufacture comes in a 42-mm case and is water resistant to 30 meters and has sapphire crystals on both sides. It is available with a black or silver-colored dial, in stainless steel or rose gold. Bracelets and straps are available.
