At the same auction, the limited edition 1815 Moonphase “Homage to F. A. Lange” sold for 275,000 Hong Kong dollars, or about 26,300 euros, representing a 45 percent increase in value. The watch was launched just last year to commemorate the horological tradition established by Ferdinand A. Lange in 1845. Lange says this is most likely the first time this model has appeared at auction.

Launched in 2009, the Zeitwerk displays the time through an elegant jumping numeral display that is driven by a unique constant-force escapement.
