Antiquorum to Auction Patek Philippe Calibre 89
On November 14 and 15 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Geneva, Antiquorum will hold its 35th anniversary sale, and among the more than 300 timepieces to be offered is one that should make any horology aficionado breathe a bit faster… a Patek Philippe Calibre 89 from the Matsuda Collection. With 33 complications, this is the world’s most complicated timepiece.
Patek created only 4 examples of the Calibre 89: one each in yellow, pink, and white gold, and one in platinum. This piece, lot 364, is in yellow gold. It was previously sold by Antiquorum on April 9, 1989 in the “Art of Patek Philippe” sale to commemorate the brand’s 150th anniversary. The presale estimate is 4.5 to 5 million Swiss francs.
