Patek Calatrava Officer’s Watch Ref. 5153

5153_150x150

For 2009 Patek Philippe introduces the Ref. 5153 Calatrava officer’s watch in 18 karat yellow gold. The 38 mm 5153 succeeds the smaller 5053, and its case combines hallmarks of the Calatrava and officer styles: a highly-polished bezel, straight lugs with screwed strap bars, a knurled turban-style crown, and a hinged case back. The dial is a silvery opaline with a hand-applied guilloche sunburst pattern. A small gold cartouche displays the Patek Philippe Geneve signature.

The hinged case back covers a sapphire crystal through which the caliber 324 S C can be viewed. This movement offers an engraved unidirectional winding central rotor in 21 karat gold. Patek guarantees this 4 Hz movement will keep time at a regular rate in the range between -3 and +2 seconds per day. This specification applies to all Patek Philippe mechanical movements.

The 5153 will retail for $25,800 and will be available beginning in July. The technical specifications are listed below.
